Description
Approx. 7" in diameter.
Black ink on white cartridge paper.
I've been looking at mandalas and reading about them, and thought it was time to have a go. So, one and a half hours or so later, a compass, pencil and pen and this is what I have.
Apparently, if you just let the mandala flow from you it gives an idea of your inner emotional/mental/spiritual state. The colours add layers of meaning to it, as to the shapes/patterns you choose.
I've always had a love of symmetrical, geometric patterns, but never really spent time creating them. This one is sketched out in pencil, the outline inked in for ease of sight and cleanliness of paper (the pencil smudged dreadfully as I was working the pattern up, and a lot of clean up with an eraser was needed!).
Next, colour. I already know there'll be metallic colours in there ... my inner corvid needs to be expressed! But the other colours ... we'll see!
Definitely a work in progress ...
Oh, and if anyone would like a copy of this to colour in and post themselves, with due credit to me, then let me know and I'll make it possible, somehow, that you can get a copy of it.

Intricate! I think my mistake when I made my mandala was not using a compasss. it went all wonky and then I didn't like it anymore. Yours is so beaultif and symmetrical.
