I started this on Thursday I think it was. It's a gift for a colleague at school who asked me for something 'bright and colourful'. Well, I couldn't resist ... but sshhhh, don't tell him!
It's worked on hot pressed watercolour paper using permanent technical drawing pens, and I'm watercolouring it in bright colours, but I'm also adding iridescent watercolours in places to highlight certain features and to add to the sense of three dimensions.
It's currently at that 'what the heck have I done????' stage where the temptation is to start all over ...
How long so far on it? Not sure, around 12 hours or more of drawing, and around 7 or 8 of painting so far I guess.
Still it keeps me out of trouble!

As you can see it is now finished. Shame the scanner doesn't show the iridescent metallic finishes on various parts ...
Don't worry! I've learned to keep going - it's one of my personal rules. I can be a 'little miss perfect' if I'm not careful and so I have to force myself to finish something even if I think it's going to be horrid. I get to this middle stage in all the art I do where I wonder what the heck I'm doing but keep on going!
And thank you I'm glad you like it so far

Thank you, and I wasn't going to finish, just musing about how artwork I do seems to get to a point where I think it's not going to work, and I was at that point last night ...
It's now finished

You did mention you like colours Glad you like ... and it's now finished just in case you hadn't noticed. All I have to do now is to cut a mount for it and frame it.

In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
